My
first time using recording software, "Garage
Band." I recorded two guitar tracks with a
Fender Statocaster and played a conga for some percussion.
The lyrics were totally improvised, as I watched an
elderly woman through my window remove the rain from her
car's windshield.
This
was a change from trying so hard to write with just an
acoustic guitar.
I
used a four-track (analogue) cassette recorder and
recorded the drums first, then two electric guitar tracks.
The vocal was recorded intentionally distorted,
as
I was experimenting with a sound similar to some Beastie
Boys' tracks and what Bono achieved on the "Achtung
Baby" CD in the 90's.
The
lyrics were total stream-of-consciousness, not very
well-thought out
